Application for a Wordle

Wednesday's diary notes remind me that my Wordle for the group "Wednesday Wordles" is due. Somehow it is Thursday again.

Wordle on a button

In my playing with Worle creation on wordle.net I have been brainstorming possible uses for Wordles. Cards, both business and greeting, posters, book covers and reports etc came to mind earlier. I am sure that you can think of others as well.

My involvement in button making predates my move to the US six years go, although my supplies always came from here. In Sandy Utah I am known as the Badge and Button Man. This gives me the luxury of short, sharp promotions (eg the house that I am selling has its images on a casual button I can wear).

Enter Wordles in combination with buttons. Was there a possible link? Wordles, involving screen captures, tend to be rectangular or square at best, never, as far as I have found, round. However, with various programs at my disposal, I can convert images to jpegs and then edit them to suit. The addition of text and matching of colors widens possibilities. And so far we have not discussed the bending of text around the edges of buttons.

The examples here are designed to produce puzzled stares (a pattern interupt ~ if you use hypnotism in your sales arsenal) and curious advances into my zone of influence where the conversation begins

information on a button

They contain a lot of information, too much to be taken in easily. A simplified button produces an entirely different reaction, rather like bland political statements.

When you play with Wordles, perhaps your colorful doodles may become your pathway to unique messages.

Larry - I Love this!  I love words and enjoyed learning how to produce wordles last year but have not done anything them in months.  Thanks for the reminder!!!  I love your buttons too.  l suggested this post as many may not know how to do it and others, like myself, might need a reminder.

Barbara - keep pleying. Wordles stretch the imagination. I'm surprised how much time viewers spend on them. Almost as if they might miss something.

Debbie - I have had some of my buttons in recent posts ("Let's make an offer" was one) and often get round to including others (eg "No Limits, No excuses" and "Sleep is an optional extra"). Perhaps I might break out again soon with more.

Wayne - buttons used as ice-breakers get people over their reluctance to encounter a strange accent. Buttons pique curiosity. People just have to find out what they say.
