Paper Mill Town no Longer
 
Diamond International Papers was originally the hub of Groveton. Diamond International was replaced by James River Paper Company, which was followed by Wausau Paper. In 2008 Wausau ceased production in its Groveton mill, which in turn precluded the trains from stopping in Groveton any more.  Times they are a changing...
 
 
Riverside Speedway
 
In 1964 Riverside Speedway opened up in Groveton. It has had many of owners and is still in operation today. Although this race track hasn't been updated in 20 years, it is still enjoyable.  They have weekly events are reasonable rates all summer long.  Many families look forward to this outing once a week from this community and many surrounding communities as well.   Riverside is the summer heartbeat of our community.

Great place to invest with several opportunities for businesses and residential homes are very reasonable prices.
