North San Diego County Transit District In North San Diego, Calif Selling Coaster Tickets Online!

The North County Transit District will be one of the first transit agencies to pilot e-ticketing technology, allowing pre-purchase of public transit tickets online for special events. The new technology, developed with CooCoo, Inc a New York based transit technology company allows customer to use a credit or debit card to purchase an Coaster train ticket form a computer, smart phone, or tablet. The Coaster commuter train runs between Oceanside and San Diego 7 days a week with a weekday ridership of about 5,600.

NCTD is launching a key e-ticking partnership to promote taking transit to the month long San Diego County Fair an event notorious for gridlocked traffic and parking shortages. Customers can go online to pre-purchase a discounted combination ticket called the " Weekend Fair Tripper", which provides fair admission plus a transit pass valid on all NCTD trains and buses Friday through Sundays and July 4 the Fair's busiest days. The Weekend Fair Tripper will also be avialable in station ticket machines.
