You may have heard of the musician "Unknown Hinson" as the man who brought you the classics like “I Make Faces when I Make Love,” “I Ain’t Afraid of Your Husband", or “Poly Urethane”.
Or you may know You may also know him as the voice of the character "Early" from the show "The Squidbillies" on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.
Unknown Hinson will be performing this Saturday at Gilligan’s in Murfreesboro Tennessee.
If you’re looking to see one of the coolest guitar players around then this show is definitely worth your while.
Stuart Daniel Baker, or Unknown Hinson as many know him, has been making music for years, and is from North Carolina.
He once had his own show called "The Unknown Hinson Show," in which he won a few awards in the public TV realm and kept the character after the show stopped airing.
Unknown Hinson has been active in the music world since 1993, and he has a story that contributes to the overall persona and stage name.
Apparently, his birth certificate states that his mother’s name was “Miss Hinson” and his father’s name was “Unknown.”
He was given his first guitar by his mother and since then he’s been on the road with the circus, and blazed a trail for his own guitar fortune.
Unknown’s style is a mix of country-western and rockabilly with blistering, fluid guitar licks. And at times, he may perform songs from artist such as Jimi Hendrix in a live setting.
Unknown is also liked by celebrities such as Billy Bob Thornton who has called him “one of my favorite songwriters and a genius picker.”
Hank Williams III even got a tattoo of a picture of Unknown on his arm.
You never know what to expect at an Unknown show and you better believe that he’ll be there until the end, meeting and greeting fans or signing autographs.
If there is one show that you should see in Murfreesboro, then this is it. It’s time to head out to Gilligan’s.
