David, Technology has made life much easier. Last trip here was four years ago and it was either tether the laptop to the TREO (horrendous), or head out to a coffee shop on the mainland. Having wi-fi here made life much easier!
John, No easy integration. Photos on a new listing tomorrow afternoon and I'm back in the office first thing Monday. It could have been worse, I was " " this close to having to go to Allentown for the week immediately on the heels of returning. Bill
Bobbie, We'd just wrapped up an offer just before leaving, so was beginning to think we were going to get through the whole vacation without an offer. Not so :)
SHUTTING DOWN AND HITTING THE ROAD.
We'll respond to comments when we can.
Thanks everyone!!
Good morning Bill and Liz - good for you for taking a well earned vacation! Being away from the office but not completely out of touch is how our business stays alive. I hope you return rejuvenated and ready to hit the ground running!
BLiz: It is great to be able to get away and enjoy something other than work...good to hear you had a good time with family.
Safe home! So glad you had a wonderful, relaxing time and got to spend some time with Amy and Marian.
So glad you enjoyed some time off together! Thoes North Carolina girls always get all the ActiveRain visitors!!! :) That is 3 or 4 already this year! The beaches are amazing and the people FRIENDLY! A great vacation choice!
And that just shows how good you two are! Didn't even realize you were on Vacation!! The beach looks terrific and so glad you were able to get some time away to recharge! Congrats on the offer and can't wait to see the new listing! Drive Safe!
safe travels. Hope you find a couple of interesting places and things to do on the way home too.
I am blessed to live 15 minutes from the Atlantic and that part of the ocean is looking pretty calm. Glad you got to get away with the family.
Sounds like a great trip. Getting away is hard and you pay for it when you return. Hope you came back energized and ready for lots of new business.
BLiz- I love the idea that your family has been renting the same place for 40 years. We need more continuity in the world. Glad you had a good time and congrats on the offer.
We're home!!! Long drive, but safely back! Even negotiated an offer on one of our listings to verbally accepted and another offer received and presented on another listing during the drive home :)
Wayne & Jean Marie, Nice to have the break, but some catching up to do! The yard needs mowed, flowers watered and gardens weeded, new listing to take pictures of and contract to get signed off :)
Anita, A nice mix of down time and keeping up with the job too :)
Roger, Always nice to spend time with our AR Friends!
Joni, Liz's family has been going to the same place forever! So when Amy or Marian post about the local stuff, there's often a lot of recognition for the places by us :)
Brenda, A little less posting, a little less commenting, but we did keep a daily presence thanks to that WiFi in the home :)
Tammy, With a 12 hour drive, no stopping other than rest stops, food and gas. Just want to get home as early as possible!
Liz, The first few days were super smooth. REALLY easy to watch the dolphins go up and down the coast. But the last few days have had some nice pounding surf to play in :)
Kay, We're as ready as we could get :)
Kathy, There's a lot of tradition in that beach home (even though it's version 2 after a fire took the first one in 1998). Easily holds 16 people, although with 4 showers there still wasn't always enough!
Glad you are having a good time. And business keeps hopping along even when you are away. A win-win situation.
Jane, We were beginning to wonder about when the offers were going to start showing up while on vacation?? One about 5 pm the night before we left and the other at 3 p.m. while driving home :) One is verbally accepted, the other we shall see if it's possible to bridge the chasm!
Bill, I love how those waves just rippled along. What a great way to unwind from it all. I'm sorry you still had to keep up with business, but I hope it wasn't the usualy 24/7 (or at least that's what it feels like, some days.) Please drive savely home.
Juli, It wasn't as hectic as normal by any means! And we got home about 3 hours ago, and about time to call it a night!
Even on vacation you are hyper local blogging, even if local is hundreds of miles away from Ohio. How may days away are you from nesting in the #2 spot of AR Ohio bloggers?
Dave, We don't miss a day of posting since we got serious about it in August 2010. Took some more pictures today for some developments now that we're back home, blog posts to follow over the next few days. We're closing on #2, it's the challenges that allow us to close the gap a bit.
BLiz - It was a pleasure to meet you and steal a few moments of your vacation ;-) Glad you made it home safely with lots of "work" to do on your arrival! So.... I guess you understand why we love living here so much! Next time, please let me know when you will be heading to Big Oak, I love to have an excuse to go there often!
Amy, This trip was a low Big Oak visit trip, only made it down twice, and did try the onion rings the 2nd time, along with the applestix. Both were good! Glad to get to meet you in person and look forward to the next trip down (although not the 12 hour drive part of it!).
