The Milledgeville "Airport" area, what does that mean?

The other day working with buyers a statement was made to me about House A being worth more than House B because house B was "near the airport".  Not so fast.  Perhaps that is true of homes near Hartsfield in Atlanta, but it's NOT true of homes in the "airport" area of Milledgeville.  People brag about being in the "airport area" like people brag about being in the country club area or a golfing community.  The airport area is to Milledgeville what Beverly Hills is to LA.

Also recently a buyer said that he wanted to be at a home he was looking at so he could hear a plane take off.  Well just moments after he said that we saw a plane taking off, but we hadn't heard a thing.  It's not like the airport has jumbo jets or passenger planes.  It only has small planes that privately owned. As you can see the planes at this airport are generally pretty small.  I can't tell you how big, because I'm not a plane expert.  But I can tell you that if you want to hob nob with the best of the best in Milledgeville you should by over by the airport.

There are many really nice neighborhoods around Lake Sinclair with beautiful homes both waterfront and across the street.  But you are just going to have to believe me when I say you won't want to furrow your brow at someone if they tell you they live in the "Airport area" of Milledgeville.  You should give them a polite smile instead.

I think if my buyers end up in one of the lovely homes on the market in the airport area they will be super pleased.  The location is convenient to shopping and just a short 5 minute drive to Highway 441 if you are headed somewhere.  The water is clear in that part of the lake and bottom sandy.  And if you sit there all day and watch the runway you might be lucky enough to see a plane take off, but then again you might have to wait for another day.

I've had clients who wanted to be near the small regional airport because they were plane enthusiasts.  The flight path was very close to the home they liked -- even better!!  Seems as though your client had the same thoughts on the subject. ;-)

The airport area is to Milledgeville what Beverly Hills is to LA.

Maybe if you're talking about Burbank, LOL. But then we have a huge planes in southern Cal and not the private jets like you have at Milledgeville. Where do people fly to from Milledgeville? Like Bermuda?

Carla- not so much liking planes and just the neighborhood.

Elizabeth- I don't think they fly places, just out for the afternoon and home mostly.  I have had a few people fly in for closings now and again too.

obviously like lakesinclairblog.com however you need to test the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very troublesome to tell the reality nevertheless I'll definitely come back again. Sending my regards
