Goofy & Playful, This Guy Will Make You Smile... Meet Rokie!
If you're new to our blog, we write about a local shelter dog each week and have for over a year now. Of the 60+ dogs we've featured, all but one have been adopted. Let's keep that up! As mom to four rescued shelter dogs, I urge you to adopt a shelter dog, don't buy from a breeder. The Hukari Animal Shelter currently has 17 dogs, the most I've seen in the 2+ years I've been involved with them. If Rokie doesn't strike a chord with you, there's sure to be another pup who will capture your heart. Check them all out: www.hoodriveradoptadog.org.
Rokie is just the sweetest Golden Retriever Mix, is around five months old and weighs in at 40 pounds. If those huge paws are any indication, this guys got a lot of growing to still do. Rokie is big, goofy, silly, loveable and an all around fun guy. He's up for anything and loves adventures and playing. He does need some discipline, though, and needs a firm hand to teach him some manners. This guy is going to make someone an awesome running or biking partner, he loves water and adores riding in the car.
Rokie is too young for neuter but is current on shots and microchipped. The adoption fee for Rokie is $200, plus neuter deposit, cash or check only, please. The adoption fee is charged to help recover standard average veterinary expenditures for each dog. Please call ahead to meet Rokie in Odell at the Hukari Animal Shelter 3910 Heron Dr, Hood River OR 97031. Call the shelter for more information 541-354-1083. Adoption hours are Wed 5-7 & Sat 9-11. You can download an application at: www.hoodriveradoptadog.org. You can fax your application to 1-877-833-7166.
