Before there was Green Building a few home builders wanted to build environmentally friendly healthy homes.  These innovative visionaries didn’t have a road map or checklist to follow or an abundance of material resources to choose from.

My new listing in Arrowhead point is one such house. It was build prior to the Built Green Certification program which started in 2003. I actually got a chance to meet the husband and wife building team that built and designed this custom home for themselves in 1986. I was the selling agent for this home when my clients purchased it in 2002 in a multiple-offer situation.

The subtleties of the design principles that went into the building of this house are extremely unique and
extremely well thought-out.  Starting with the positioning layout, designed to maximize as much of the natural daylighting as possible the open beam ceilings, layered living spaces, view corridors from every room, ambient and task lighting, and large eves that help keep the summer’s direct sun off the interior living spaces. Some of these characteristics are so well done they can easily go unnoticed.

The heart of the home is its kitchen, remodeled with high-end energy-efficient appliances, granite counters and Mission style cabinets.  The chef’s kitchen is actually a multi-purpose room with a sitting area that looks out to the side patio and connects seamlessly with the family room and pocket office areas.

The 4 bedroom, 3bath home is offered at $619,000 to view this custom craftsman home inArrowhead point please follow the link.
