Nantahala River Rafting in the western NC mountains

Looking for a great way to cool off in the Murphy, NC mountains? First, you'll need to pick one of the great rivers here in the surrounding western NC, north GA and east TN mountains. Next thing is to pick one of the many Rafting Companies along that river and you’re all set. How easy is that? The more the merrier so grab a few friends or meet some new ones as you white water down the cool and refreshing rivers.
The perfect way to cool off in the summer mountains!

This always looks so scary to me.  But I imagine for the few and the brave it is a wonderful way to spend a hot day.

It really is a lot of fun on the Nantahala river, Jane. Now the Ocoee where they had the 1996 Olympics is too scary for me - we even saw a raft going down yesterday with the guide out and in the river trying to get back in the raft...kinda like a plane without a pilot :)

Oh, it is exhilarating, Joni! Lots of fun and especially with these hot summer days.

It is so much fun Alexandra. This same company also does a Zipline that we keep saying we're going to do too!

As hot as its been these last few days Patricia, we could all do with a little cooling of on the river!

Lee and Carol,

Wow, look at that white water. That will cool you off for sure. :)

Hi Carol and Lee,

I'm with Jane!  It looks scary.  I'm sure people love it though!

DeeDee, it really isn't on this River, but tubing is much more fun and relaxing I think.

Thanks Steve! Your Silent Saturdays and Speechless Sundays are two of my favorite groups.
