6 Comments on How do you Reward your Child?
April, I used to reward my son with a day at the Wild Animal Park, then we would have a carnic (a picnic in the back of the van) with the door open to the open fields of the Park. He absolutely loved this special time with me. If you want you can also reward him with bringing a friend.
Enjoy all the moments you can with them, I actually never rewarded with money. I actually used tickets, then he could buy what he wanted with them.
I don't reward my kids for behavior that is expected, such a good grades. Nor do I reward them for not missing school because I expect them to stay home if they are sick and I want other kids to do the same.
But when I do celebrate its often something like an ice cream party for the family so the whole family can share in the congratulations and jubilations. Another idea is to offer to have a friend sleep over and have pizza. We keep it simple in our house. I prevents the "now what do I get" questions.

I agree with Mary. Rewarding expected behavior is something I never did/do.
The greatest reward you can give a child in unconditional love :)
