Nature Explorers: A Peek into Ponds 
Wednesday, June 27; 2 – 3:30 pm
Yates Mill County Park, 4620 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh 
Brief description: Many animals and insects live in and by a pond. Dip into the millpond to explore the diversity of life that exists there and get a firsthand look at many pond organisms and an understanding of what it takes to survive in the water. Ages 9-13. Registration is required. $4/child

Wakefield Rotary Club’s 2nd Annual Monthly Charity Golf Event

TPC Wakefield Plantation, 2201 Wakefield Plantation Drive  Raleigh, NC
The Wakefield Rotary club of Wake Forest is hosting the 2nd annual monthly charity golf tour at TPC Wakefield Plantation April through October 2012 to raise money to go toward various local charities supported by the organization. The Wakefield Rotary Charity Golf Tour will consist of 18 holes of play in a Texas Scramble format beginning on Thursday, April 12.  The other monthly golf events will be on May 10, June 28, August 9, September 13 and October 11. No golf will be played in July. Tee times are at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start on the TPC Wakefield Plantation golf course. The entry fee for each golf event is $80 and registration must be completed online prior to the event. Go to www.wakefieldrotarync.org and click on Rotary Golf Tour to register and pay. Raffle tickets are also available and cost $10 for one or three for $20. Raffle prizes vary each month and will be awarded after each golf outing with snacks at 6:30 p.m. in the clubhouse to conclude the event.
