Sweet Anthem Chamber 3220 Searcy AR? What does this mean?

A blog reader sent me this picture of a tombstone that he found in the cemetery in Searcy AR and asked if I knew what the Sweet Anthem Chamber 3220 meant.

"Also, I've got a picture of this headstone from the cemetery on East Moore St. I was wondering what "Sweet Anthem Chamber" was. Sounds kind of creepy, but it is in a cemetery. Many thanks,"  so the email read.

I told him the Seary Super Sleuths could probably tell us what it meant....or means....

Here's the picture.

Mary, I just googled it to see if it would come up on a search.  Guess what came up?  This blog!  It sure goes out rapidly to the search engines.

I have no clue.  It sorta looks like a kind of Masonic Emblem...as best I can see.  Having said that, I'll just go take my afternoon nap and rely on Don to give us the scoop.....

I have done a little looking. That is a Masonic emblem on the tombstone and for it to be on a woman's stone is interesting. Read about women and Masons here.

I wonder if the Sweet Anthem Chamber has some significance for Masons. There is a Middle Chamber of King Solomon’s Temple in the Masonic Rites mumbo jumbo.

BTW, the tomstone is in the Oak Grove Cemetary. This is the listing in the records.

Smith, Della D. (1)died August 31, 1916only date

I'll keep looking.

That does not look like a Masonic emblem to me. There is no compass. Maybe its from some now defuct women's club.

It has the compass. It's easier to see as a negative image. The T,A, and V stand for Tace, Audi, and Vide or be silent, hear, and see.

Goodness!  What have we gotten into now?  Did we find a woman Mason?  Don, the wikipedia article was long and I just skimmed it but it sounds as if the Masons don't allow women.  Could that be why their numbers are becoming smaller?  I always giggle a little when I see the pictures of Masons with their aprons on..... Hubby is a Mason and he'd never tell me what the secret rituals are.

And how old was this lady?  It just gave her death date....not a birth date.  Anita, wake up and help us solve this question.

Mark, thanks for your input.  I believe Don may be a Mason since he knows what the letters stand for.

Hey!  Maybe that is just the name of the tombstone company who made the stone!

I still haven't given up on this one.   I have consulted with a VERY reliable consultant - won't reveal his name YET - and he is researching this "chamber"....

Who was it who shouted "Don't Give Up the Ship"???
