Lou: That's a nice thought- thank you for sharing.  I would add too that a child also uses imagination to "really" see what it is he or she wants the clay to be and doesn't "see" the reality of flaws, cracks or mis-shaped parts.  By keeping negativity out of their creations, children are able to enjoy them to a much greater potential than if they molded the clay by worrying what everyone else will think about them.
