How to Download Your YouTube Videos to Your Computer

As many of you know, Anderson Properties just joined the Prudential Family. As I was adding my listings to the Online Seller Advantage, there was a place to upload videos. COOL! But when I went to cut and paste the link from YouTube, I quickly found that that was not allowed. You HAD to upload the video from your computer. Oh my!

The good news is... It is QUICK and EASY!

Step One: Log on to YouTube and Click on Your User Name

Step Two: Click on Video Manager

Step Three: Mark the box to the left of the video that you wish to download to your computer.

Step Four:Click on the Edit Drop Down Menu  - see photo above.

Step Five: Click on Download MP4 (the last item in the drop down menu. See photo below).

Step Six: “Save to” a place where you can find it. I chose My Videos.

NOTE: I noticed when I went back after the first hour to down load 2 more, they automatically downloaded in my Downloads Folder without asking me where I wanted them to be saved. I had to manually move them to My Videos. :(

Step Six: Change the name if you wish. I left mine alone as it described the property.

Step Seven: Click Save. It takes a few minutes to save.

Note: YouTube only allows you to  download 2 of YOUR videos per hour.

Voila! You are done!

And now, when you are required to upload the video directly from your computer.... You can!

Great job but what I need is how to download someone else's video to my computer... Otherwise I have to ask my clients to send me the file. Kind of a pain. :)

Joni,

Thanks for the refresher steps of downloading a video. I have not done this now for several months and my memory is hazy. I will use your blog as a guide. I still have to re-blog your post about out franchise change..

Bob: When you add your first listing to OLSA, it will pull all of your other listings and then you can accept them. After that, they will automatically upload when you put them on MLS. Once they are in the OLSA, then you can add the seller's email and upload videos. I make all of my virtual tours  on iMovie using my iPhone and upload them directly to YouTube so I didn't have them on my computer. YIKES! Well... now I do! :)
