The Power of Google Search

Real Estate Broker/Owner with New Paradigm Partners LLC EB #1326335

We're all fascinated with the power of Google search and we spend countless hours trying to get a feel for how it works and how we can make it work for us. And every once in a while, we discover that Google search is much more complex and powerful than we have imagined. Such is the case with a recent story in - Search Masterclass.

Google Earth Model

Daniel Russell, a Google research scientist, showed an audience a picture of a random building in an unnamed city and asked the question, "What's the phone number of the office where this picture was snapped?"

It would be difficult enough to get the phone number of the building. But the phone number of the office where the photographer was standing when he took it? Seriously?

He then proceeded to describe how Google Search can be used to get the correct answer.

Are you ready to have your mind blown? Check out his blog post - Answer: Where are you?

When you get your composure back, you might want to bookmark his blog. This is seriously good stuff!

Google has been able to find a lot of information on various people and places.  As long as we keep working on the keywords and other clues, the information is out there.

Hi Bryan & Anna - Thanks for your comments. The information revolution is truly upon us, and if you dig around on Daniel Russel's blog, you'll be amazed at what is possible - and soon probably automated. This is one of those "Oh Wow!" technology epiphanies that seem to be coming more frequently these days.

Dick~ Google is just way to powerful for my comprehension.  I'm doing my best to learn how to get the SEO and Google juice and that's taken several years!

Google has made researching things like this much easier.  I come from a radio production background, and my job in the days before the internet, was finding out the stuff that was not so easy to find out.  I think sometimes the current generation has no idea how lucky they are to have information like this at their fingertips.

That is absolutely mindboggling.  In fact it is almost frightening to know the scope of information you can glean with Google.
