Union County residents can enjoy a picnic in one of many lovely parks such as Mindowaskin Park in Westfield. Team Zuhl spent a great morning there this week – the pond has dozens of geese and fountains. Meandering walking trails move through peaceful 12.6 acre park, and the park boasts a playground for the younger set.  

The next time we’re there, we’re going to the Municipal Building next door to see the map with all of the memorial trees that have been planted throughout the park from 1940 through the 1960s.

The gazebo’s pathway was renovated two years ago and includes engraved bricks.  The Friends of Mindowaskin Park seek donations for repair and beautification projects.
