Become Part Of History This Saturday June 30, 2012.

Join in one of the world's first GLOBAL social media "meet-ups" with photographers from all over the world.

Everyone is welcome to join the  Google+ One Year Anniversary Photowalk  all photography skill levels embraced with kindness and a willingness to share knowledge and talent.

Come join the group in your city or there is still time to create your own group an be part of this history making social media event with Google+.    Places include: Singapore, Denver, Switzerland, Phoenix, London, several places in LA, Hong Kong and Dubai (oh yes, Dubai photo walk is on my bucket list)   Check out the Dubai listing they are meeting at the world's tallest building! Someday I WILL do a photowalk in Dubai and after this event I will know photographers there so I can get that checked off the list!   I will be hosting the Williams, Arizona photowalk on Rt66 or we might just jump in the car and head up to the Grand Canyon.  If you are in Arizona and want to come to the cool country, please let me know.

This event will provide an opportunity for people go create relationships with photographers of all skill levels all over the world.  A participant will be able to circle and comment on all the photos as the doors are opened through a common interest in cities around the globe.  Think global, act local brings on new meaning as you really do have a way to connect with the world and share your community through social media at Google+.  Share this with your sellers and your buyers they might want to connenct around the world too! Have your clients and friends come with you and shout about social media and how nice it is to have a global community!

When: Saturday, June 30, 2012  check time in your cityGoogle heart

Where: Anywhere in the world check over 200 locations

Who: You! Photographers of all skill and levels. From beginners to pros. What if you only have a phone camera? YES! you too!

Why: To celebrate the one year anniversary of Google+ in the G+ photo community. To hang out with other fun Google+ photographers. To SHARE MORE PHOTOS! To meet new and interesting people.

Cost: All Free! The best things in life are free right? We just need people to step up and decide to host one in your city.

Anyone can host one. Groups of people can host them. Anyone can be involved with them. This is a loosely defined community of photographers.

To host a new location go sign up at plancast.com
See you still have time!

Nobody is specifically leading the groups and everybody is specifically leading them. Someone just needs to set up a page for your walk on Plancast and everybody can hop on board for a walk. A walk can have 2 people or 200 people.

The fun continues as there will be a contest with prizes for the photographs. You mist be a google+ member to participate in the contest. You can certainly join in the photo walk and not be a member of Google+ but you have to be a member BEFORE the walk to enter the contest.

Photo judging for this great event will be broken down into the following categories:
  • Macro
  • Wildlife
  • Landscape
  • Architecture
  • Sunset or Sunrise
  • Portrait (candid or posed)
  • Black & White (monochrome)

Google+ is reaching out to the world and this is where you can get in and connect with something exciting that everyone loves to talk about and look at, photos of cool things.

This is what the contest rules say:

"Remember that this is all about enhancing our photographic abilities and interaction with others here on Google Plus. We are here to have fun and to learn a bit along the way. This is a positive experience and please don’t make any negative comments along the way.

The one and only rule is that you must be a Google Plus member before this walk to enter.

Anyone and everyone can participate and take photos in the various photowalks around the world and actually that is encouraged, the more the merrier! We are just limiting the judging to existing G+ers.  ;-)"

Join me in Williams, Arizona for a RT66 photo walk or we can jump in the car and go to the Grand Canyon.

Become part of history and share in the Google Plus One Year Anniversary Photowalk. #GplusAnniversary

Carra - Your group email message said it all.   I am out busy selling my heart out.  And, I have three appointments on Saturday.  Today I had one showing and hooked up with three new buyers.  Tomorrow so far is quiet, but Friday, I have another closing!  Wow!  I haven't had this much activity in a month for the last couple of years!

Carra:  I'm trying to think beyond just the "meeting people" aspect of this event.  How this would play into mortgages?  I may have to call the brains of our outfit into this.  Marilyn may have an idea of how we can take part ...

Thanks for the info ... and the invite.  Sounds like a fun outing and way to meet new people from just EVERYwhere!

Gene ~  I just looked up Chicago and here is your link http://plancast.com/p/b8yj  There are about 14 people planning on meeting behind  "The Bean"   Millennium Park · Saturday, June 30, 2012, 12:00pm

Check the link and you will know all the details.  These are just people some new to Google+ who live in Chicago interested in photography.  The connection for you is new people who may know people who may want a loan.  It's actually just fun for you to go and learn from professional photographers how to shoot buildings, bridges, people etc.  Oh.. and get some of those bridges and come post in #BridgesAroundTheWorld .  if you don't like photography or don't want to learn then it would not be something you want to do.. but read what the people who are going have written and then decide.  If it does not sound like it would be fun don't do it... that is what this is supposed to be..fun with photography and connecting with people.  Hope it works out.. I want some Chicago Bridges.. the ones that open up!  Thanks for always commenting!

Carra:  Didn't make it to Chicago today ... terribly storms here last night.  No electricity for hours ... and tree down in front yard, shingles missing off the roof ... and sounds like possibility of more coming.   Much of Chicagoland was in much the same situation.  But I tell you what ... Joliet has some old bridges like you describe.  Maybe not as well-known as Chicago's ... but I'll get you a pic or two when I'm there next time ...

Thanks for your efforts and all the info.  You are a true friend,

Gene
