Usually this time of year I am slow and am spending much of my time trying to scrape up new business. 2008 so far has been a different story. Don't believe what the national news is telling you. My neighborhood is still moving forward and people are buying and selling. Check out the article in Money Magazine. I have seen both buyers and sellers coming out of the woodwork. With all of the foreclosures out there, investors seem to be everywhere too.

I have spent a lot of time in front of my laptop reponding to emails from clients. Electric City Sign

They are reaching out to me.

They want to buy!

They want to sell!

Realtors, use email to your advantage. I still believe in the phone and face to face meetings, but clients are relying heavily on the Internet (I know, you are already aware of that, but are you reacting to it?)

My ramblings today are simply to say this...

The market is as busy as you make it. Set your goals high in 2008 because people ARE buying and selling. Help your clients find the home of their dreams. Don't let the media crush your spirit. 2008 can be a banner year!

Yes, it is great here for me in Fort Lauderdale...I'm back to a few hour's of sleep and lots of business and I LOVE IT! This week has been crazy for me...I think about 12 new customers...Monday was nuts!

Glad things are well!  2008 will be GREAT!!! Keep positive!

Great post! December was the best month of 2007 for my partner and I we had 12 closings and thought something was seriously wrong!! I'm happy as well going into 2008 and although we won't have that many, we are excited about continued success. Wishing you the same!

Yes, it's picking up for me here in NY but not for everybody. The ones who are willing to work at it will reap rewards in 2008.

It's nice to read a positive post about the market. I have noticed an increase in the number of floor calls and contacts from friends who are starting to look for houses. The doom and gloom of the media can't keep the market down forever.

Tood,

It is good to hear that you are busy!  I feel that as long as you are working you will get potential clients!

I agree business is only as busy as you make it. I love to hear people complain about how bad business is as I leave the office to go to a showing or a listing appointment and when I get back they are still sitting there.

I agree - 2008 is shaping up to be another banner year. Low interest rates are really attractive for buyers looking to move up or build.

Great thoughts on e-mail Todd. It's a wonderful way to stay in touch and have a permanent record of communication.

My biggest challenge has been dealing with low-ball offers from buyer agents who watched the national news then convinced their clients that the market is really bad.
