A Place For Mom - a Great Resource for Seniors and their Families
About a decade ago, my wife and I took part in a search for an Assisted-Living facility for my mother-in-law. Mom had reached a point in her life where she just was no longer capable of taking care of herself physically within her own home.
Thankfully, after doing a mega-search, my oldest brother-in-law found a wonderful facility close to him in Lombard that soon became the new home for mom through the remaining days of her life. And also ... thankfully ... my wife's family were single-minded in what direction to go with their mother. It made a very emotional time and decision, much easier in many ways.
When I came upon this wonderful, fact-filled post by Lottie Kendall, Sotheby's International Realty and Seniors Real Estate Speciality ... my first thought was how great a service these people from "A Place for Mom" are offering families that are now finding themselves in a similar situation to what ours faced. How much easier our search would have been had we known of "A Place for Mom" and their many services.
So I promised Lottie (and my wife) that I would pass this helpful, informational post on ... to increase the likelihood of more people reading it and finding the valuable assistance they need in a very emotionally-charged and trying time. I hope it proves beneficial to you and your loved-one.

Are you familiar with A Place for Mom? It's a great resource for Seniors and their families
As a residential Realtor® working in San Mateo County and the Silicon Valley, I enjoy working with Seniors. Perhaps it's because I feel close to my own mother when I do, or perhaps its because they are so appreciative of a bit of guidance and care. Whatever the reason, when I can make the selling of their present home go smoothly and well when it no longer is enjoyable or practical for them to live there, I feel tremendous satisfaction. Often the house has become too large, or has too many stairs, or too big of a yard. Or perhaps it's time to be closer to family members, yet not too close!
Before they list their home for sale, I want to be sure they know lifestyle options so they can decide the best next step to take. That's where A Place for Mom comes in.
A Place for Mom helps seniors and their families find senior housing and senior care based on your unique needs and budget. They are dedicated to being a comprehensive senior living resource, and equip you with the resources to make informed decisions, save time, and feel less alone as you face the many challenges of caring for your aging parents, or finding the right place for yourself. They can guide you to the right nursing home, assisted living facility or independent living community, help you research Veterans benefits and ways to finance senior care. They are with you each step of the way.
A Place for Mom is paid by the participating communities and providers in their national network; their service is offered at no charge to families.
To get started, go online to A Place for Mom or give them a call at the toll-free number: 877-311-6099
Once you know where you're going, selling the house is no longer quite so daunting a task. And I'm here to help make that part a bit easier.
--- Just another benefit of living here!
