I really can't believe that the 4th of July is right around the corner - but the calendar seems to think that is right. If your family is wondering where you can see fireworks in 2012 in the Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater WA area, then here you go with some ideas:
July 3rd in Lacey - the traditional July 3rd fireworks in Lacey are in a new location this year, so don't drive over to South Sound and wonder where the crowd is. This year the fireworks are a joint partnership of City of Lacey and Lacey Chamber of Commerce, and the crowds will be at Wm. A Bush park ready to ooh and aah for the display. The park is at 4400 Chardonnay (at the corner with Yelm Hwy) and the fireworks will begin at approximately 10:15 PM. This park's playground is a favorite for my granddaughter so she is pretty excited for this event!
On the actual 4th of July, you can head to Tumwater where there will be a parade along Capitol Way at 11 AM, then the gates open at Tumwater Valley Golf Course at 6 PM for the rest of the day's special events. The Artesian Family Festival will have food vendors, loads of activities for the kids and free entertainment and music for everyone to enjoy while they await the big fireworks display at around 10:15 PM. Parking is $10 per car.
And if you miss these fireworks displays - or just need some more booms and bangs, then Olympia's Lakefair will be your next opportunity this year to see those beautiful lights in the sky. Lakefair 2012 ends on the 22nd with their big fireworks display (and don't miss all of the other community fun on the rest of the days of Lakefair).
