Laid off

If anyone is in need of a virtual assistant or lives in the Dallas area, and needs to fill any position, I am currently available.

Today I was laid off from my job. It's a pretty numbing feeling. To know that you are no longer employed... to know that for the first time in your life you might have to borrow money from someone else...to be in debt...It's 6:15 a.m. I couldn't fall asleep. I had to log into my sureclose account to retrieve my activerain password. That's when I realized I never have to log in again. I don't have a job anymore.

That absolutely has to suck. One of the benefits of being a self employed agent is no one can lay me off. Of course, I can't get anything to sell either, so I just slowly drown in debt. But at least I don't have to worry about my unemployment checks running out.

This virtual assistant thing, how does that work?

PS> I think Premier Asset Services is hiring, as is HSBC in their asset management department, and I think you might be able to be virtual with them.

I can understand how you feel. It is a numbing feeling to lose that security. It would have been nice if you lived here in the Nashville area, as I am looking for someone.  Good luck with your job search.

I'm so sorry.  I know it's very scary, but you'll make it through this time.

FOR ALL PEOPLE READING THIS POST, I HAD THE HONOR AND TRUE PLEASURE TO BE HEATHER'S MANAGER FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS.  SHE WOULD BE AN INCREDIBLE ASSET TO ANYONE.  SHE IS INCREDIBLY HARDWORKING AND DISCIPLINED.  SHE UNDERSTANDS TRANSACTION COORDINATION AND KNOWS HOW TO USE THE SURECLOSE ONLINE TRANSACTION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM BETTER THAN ANYONE YOU COULD FIND.  OUR COMPANY IS BASED IN CALIFORNIA AND HEATHER LIVES IN TEXAS.  WE HAVE WORKED WITH AGENTS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, SO PLEASE BE OPEN MINDED ABOUT USING A VIRTUAL EMPLOYEE.  SHE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE IT WORK!  I WAS HONORED TO HAVE HER ON MY TEAM AND HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY DEVASTATED AT LOSING HER AS AN EMPLOYEE.

Heather - its tough, I know.  especially when you aren't expecting it.  I had the good fortune of being laid off early in my career (over 20 years ago).  It came out of nowhere, and it taught me that no job is permanent.  Good luck in your search; if you have any questions about the virtual assistance industry, feel free to send me an email or give me a call.  I'll help any way I can. Tip#1: Ask Beth Young to write you a letter of recommendation. :-)

Heather- How's your job search coming along? Hopefully you've found something else.

I hope, and know things will turn around for you. Good Luck

I might be able to help you.  I run a contract processing firm.  Does not sound like where your experience has been (you work more with real estate agent?).  We could talk about setting you up as a work at home agent and provide you with Real Estate Agent leads.

It's an idea.

BTW.  This group rocks!

Heather,

There IS a reason for you being let go - there is another door to open and opportunity for you to make the best out of.
