Is it a Bungalow, Craftsman or a Pacific Northwest Design?
‘Design from the heart is NOT design for the faint-hearted. It takes a dash of courage to follow your own desires’. Heartfire At Home
I’ve literally spent hours trying to figure out the design origins of my newest listing for sale in Kenmore’s Arrowhead Point neighborhood. I guess it’s a bit of a hybrid, a blending of several different architectural styles.
The Arrowhead Point home features an expansive structural timber truss design that serves both form and function while creating a feeling of openness throughout the main level of the home. Whimsical colorful wood corbels quietly identify where the trusses are anchored to the walls.
The great room and the entry way both have a “wall-of-windows” that gives the home a tremendous amount of daylighting during the year. The increased daylighting is greatly appreciated during the rainy season in the Pacific Northwest.
The rough sawn texture of the timbers and the Douglas Fir planked ceiling give the house a lodge feel while the walls of wood encased windows integrate the interior of the exterior green spaces quite well.
Truly the heart of the home is its designer kitchen. Following the clean simply design lines of the home the custom Schrocks of Walnut Creek Mission style cabinets add further ambiance highlighted by an assemblage of well-placed LED lights and a 9 1/2' granite counter.
Whatever style the home is? One thing for sure Arrowhead Point home obviously pays homage to some of the great architectural style that came before it.
