Poolesville Town Hall is now Poolesville Museum

Located in the center of Poolesville, Maryland, the Town Hall was built in 1908 as the Poolesville National Bank. It later merged with the Central Trust Company of Maryland which failed in the Depression. It then reopened and operated as a bank for 35 years. The structure was deeded to the town in 1967. It now serves as Poolesville Museum and features the bank vault with a decorative painting.

Dolores and I were in Poolesville for the celebration of the 15th Annual Montgomery County Heritage Days.  The annual Heritage Days weekend is designed to develop tourism while protecting and promoting the cultural, historical and natural resources of Montgomery County.

Home buyers love the small town atmosphere of Poolesville. Today, there are 19 homes for sale in within the Poolesville zip code 20837.  There are also a number of new homes under construction that are not yet listed on the multiple listing service.  Please contact us for home search assistance in this delightful community.

Thanks for your comments. There is much history in the Poolesville area.  Union soldiers from New Hampshire camped in Poolesville during the Civil War.  Troops built pontoon bridges for thousand of soldiers to cross the nearby Potomac River to Virginia.

What a unique building. The bank door is a fabulous reminder that it once was a bank building.

Roy, I love it when old buildings are repurposed instead of being torn down.  Nice looking building and great photos!

Hi Roy & Dolores,

Beautiful historical building and great looking vault.  Everything was done with such great detail back then.  I'm glad they made a museum out of the building.  I like the name of the town Poolesville...  looks like a nice quite place to live.

Roy,

Good job of promoting Poolesville and who does not like old historical significant buildings?

That is so cool.  I love all the rich history that the NE region has compared to the West.  But paltry compared to all the history in Europe.

Good Friday morning to all.  We are expecting a very hot day in Maryland.  It is a good time to check on seniors that might not have air conditioning.

Have an outstanding day and a very special weekend.
