I was recently asked to attend and support the grand opening of a new store in town - New York Exchange.

The concept is to avoid being a throw away society by finding new owners and new uses of quality clothing and furniture. The owner, Ms. Amanda Alacon, a recent graduate from Saint Mary's University shifted her attention from project management to project sustainability providing San Antonio residents an opportunity to live more affordably.

Ms. Alacon expressed her interest in educating consumers on how to make the most with our resources by avoiding waste and landfills.

As the key note speaker at the grand opening I will share ideas about re-purposing, reusing, and renewing. But more importantly, I"ll be sharing the WHY.

Ms. Alacon will be promoting various green events throughout the year to help others be more resourceful, to think outside of the box.
