How Do You Manage Your Online Ratings?

By
Real Estate Appraiser with PahRoo Appraisal & Consultancy

Earlier this week, I was having a conversation with a real estate peer and the question came up, "How do you manage your online ratings"?

Almost unanimously, each person said that they don't manage their online ratings and many of them didn't even consider that they could manage their online ratings.

Yet, in a world of Facebook and Google+  likes and dislikes, Angie's List, BBB and Yelp, online ratings are becoming more commonplace for a myriad of services and even products...think Amazon for book reviews.

Granted, I'm not saying that the ratings are accurate or valid, but I am saying that with so much of people's search being local, your ratings matters.

So we all left our little conversation wondering aloud, "How do you manage your online ratings"?

I try to respone to all online comments or ratings made. In fact, I've had new clients impressed with the professional responses left to negative reviews. These responses helped them to decide to use us. So, the negative reviews actually helped us get new clients!

I ignore them...they are usually a rental prospect that was not selected to rent one of my properties and, like Mark, when a would-be client sees them, they are IMPRESSED with my screening out such IDIOTS and they want me to manage their property.
