Celebrating the 4thThe 47th annual 4th of July bash will be coming to Glenview this Independence Day. This year's theme is "Keeping America Beautiful".

The day will start off at 11am with the Children's Parade on Glenview Road and Church Street. It will be followed by the regular Independence Day Parade featuring 83 floats this year. It starts at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 1775 Grove Street, heads west on Glenview Road, then south on Harlem Avenue, and west again on Central Road to Johns Park.

A Twilight Concert will keep everyone entertained beginning at 7:30pm. It features the 100-piece North Shore Concert Band and should have the whole area rocking.

When it's dark enough, the fireworks will begin at the Glenview Park Golf Club at 800 Shermer Road. A u-shaped area around the course is being set up for prime viewing of the fireworks display.

If you don't get there early enough or don't want to be in the heart of the crowd, you can try Swenson Park or Springman School as a viewing site. If you're willing to not see the ground displays, Roosevelt Park is good for seeing the sky-high beauties.

For those preferring to see their fireworks display in Northbrook, go to the Northbrook Velodrome on Maple Avenue west of Waukegan Road for the Techny Prairie Park & Fields fireworks. For your comfort, bring your own chairs and blankets.

If you'd prefer to avoid the larger crowds at the Velodrome, the fireworks can be viewed at the Northbrook train station near Village Green and at the Crate & Barrel lot on Techny Road.

So head on out on Wednesday and enjoy celebrating our patriotism during this great summer holiday. If you'd like to enjoy Glenview all year round, The Marla Schneider Team can help you find your perfect dream home. Call us at (847) 657-3790 or contact us online. We're here to serve you!
