SELLING YOUR LYNN VALLEY, NORTH VANCOUVER HOME? HOME STAGING TIPS
Are you planning on selling your Lynn Valley, North Vancouver home? Before you list your home, think about having your home staged by us, Exit Stage Right home staging. Ask yourself, what does Lynn Valley have to offer, and why would buyers be interested in this community? Once you’ve answered this question, how can you bring a sense of community into your home for sale? How can your home for sale speak to its location?
Lynn Valley is a wonderful, historic community. This area is also a nature lover’s paradise. Everyone knows about the Capilano Suspension Bridge, but the lesser known albeit equally fabulous Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is located in Lynn Canyon Park. There are beautiful hiking trails, waterfalls and the Baden Powell Trail. You can even have a latte at the Lynn Canyon Café, offering coffee from 49th Parellel. For budding scientists, there’s the Lynn Canyon Education Centre, a natural history museum, where you can learn about the local rain forest, slugs and bugs!
We recently staged a home in Lynn Valley, not far from Argyle High School. The home is located in a private, park like setting, with greenery visible from every window in the house. The home really felt like a cabin nestled in the woods. We went with this feeling, and used more organic greens, browns and oranges throughout the home. This home was mostly vacant, although there were some of the home owners pieces still there.
Here are some Before & After photos of this property. This property sold within days of being on the market, with four back up offers. The home owner mentioned more than once how home staging played a key role in the quick sale of their house.
BEFORE - They Foyer was feeling tight and cramped with a piano front and centre.
AFTER - We relocated the piano to the living room, and added colourful artwork and flowers to make a bright, cheerful first impression for buyers upon entering the home. Our aim was to tweak interest and spur buyers on to want to see more.
BEFORE - With a window bench seat to one side, and an opening to the dining room to the other side, furniture placement seemed a challenge in this empty living room.
AFTER - By placing furniture in the living room, buyers could see that there was plenty of space to entertain and chat. A strategically placed tree minimized the unsightly electrical panel to the left of the fireplace. We also brought in green and orange cushions to speak to the colours of the forest and the Koi pond outside.
BEFORE - There was an existing Danish modern dining table and buffet, but the room lacked colour and personality.
AFTER - We brought in colour through artwork, textiles and accessories.
BEFORE - There was a pretty room overlooking the garden, but again, being empty, this room's purpose seemed a bit confusing. If too much space can be a dilemma, we had it!
AFTER - We added some mid-century modern Barcelona-type chairs to create a cozy reading area. The perfect place to hide away.
AFTER - In the background, you can see another room that we furnished as a media/t.v. viewing room. Because you had to walk through this room to get to the den/garden room, it couldn't be a spare bedroom. Also, the house already had 5 bedrooms upstairs, so there really was no need for an extra guest room. Again, without furniture, these rooms could have been very confusing for buyers.
