Good Friday to you!
Today’s word is Envy.
Wikipedia defines envy "as a resentful emotion that occurs when a person lacks another's (perceived) superior quality, achievement or possession and wishes that the other lacked it."
I don't necessarily agree with that entire definition. Envy, to me, is not always resentful. Many times if I see someone with something (material) that I would like to have, I can be envious of that person for having it without being resentful that that person has it. I also don't feel that the other person should lack that possession or achievement.
There's a good chance that person deserves what they have and for good reason. If they don't deserve it and they have something, oh well.
“Envy can be a positive motivator. Let it inspire you to work harder for what you want."
