Canada Day, where to celebrate in Calgary!

Canada Day is celebrated in Calgary with a wide variety of events, parties and picnics taking places all over the city!  if you haven't decided yet where to go, here is a comprehensive list of what is happening in Calgary on this day:

• Canada Day means a FREE day at Spruce Meadows!! With all activities, parking and admissions being complimentary on this day, you can enjoy a fun adventure for the whole family that include Championship Show Jumping, Pony Rides, Wagon Rides, Face Painting and a lot more!! Located at 18011 Spruce Meadows Way SW.  A shuttle bus will be running from the Somerset/Bridlewood LRT Station from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
• Calaway Park is having something extra on July 1st! In addition to it's popular rides, the park is featuring special  events and activities on this day! The fun will start at 10:00 am and ends at 7:00 pm at Calaway Park, 245033 Range Road 33 (Highway 1 West of Calgary).
• Fort Calgary is offering a FREE pancake breakfast at 9:00 am and a half price admission to the indoor galleries! Enjoy the live music preformed by the National Music Center and the antique car show. The kids will love the bouncy castles, pony rides and the petting zoo. All this is taking place between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm at 750 – 9th Avenue SE, Calgary AB.
• Heritage Park has a special treat for the first 2012 guests who will arrive between 9:30 and 10:30 as they will be offered a FREE pancake breakfast. So, make sure to get there early to celebrate the country's diverse culture activities that will include an East Coast Celtic bands, West Coast Japanese drums, porcupine quill art from the North and First Nations dancers from the Prairies! The address is 1900 Heritage Drive SW, from 9:30 am-5 pm.
• Prince Edward's Island is one of the most popular places to celebrate Canada Day in Calgary! FREE main stage entertainment include Dojo Workhorse, Samantha Savage Smith, the Plaid Tongued Devils and more! The big party will start at 11:00 am but we recommend that you stay to the end to watch the spectacular fireworks show. Time: 11:00 am to 11:15 pm.
• Olympic Plaza is hosting a yummy celebration!! Calgary Eats will offer local restaurants, food trucks, and other vendors so you could enjoy the delicious local food. It is between 12 pm-6 pm, at 222 8 Ave SE!
