Recently I have been considering getting my e-pro training and I have been wondering if it actually brings you any business? Other than telling sellers that you can market their homes better online is there any advantage?

I have also herd that the training is really basic stuff that most tech savvy agents already know. Is this true?

If you have gone through the training, I would really appreciate your input and look forward to your responses.

I consider myself very tech savvy and did not really pick up too much additional from the class.  It is more of a marketing tool for designation.  I also have not received an e-Pro referral or lead as of yet.  I have seen people posting referrals on the e-Pro members group however.

It would probably be better for someone who was not very computer savvy or looking to freshen up a bit.

If you ask Jim Cronin of the Real Estate Tomato, he will tell you it's a tin foil badge. On the surface, I would agree, although I have not taken the class. Quite frankly, I don't think consumers care one little bit about the plethora of letters after your name. They don't know what they mean, either. Other agents might care, but not consumers. Well, unless you have a long string of them. Like a dozen or so. That's impressive. If I were into impressing people, that's what I would do. Get a string of designations.

JIm - we have it, but pretty much knew beforehand what was in the class. has not gotten us any biz. think CRS tech class might be off greater substance, but don't know for sure. think is so easy to get, we'd still get it nevertheless. in our opinion CRS is the one to get, and all the classes we took were superb. It all comes out of a think tank at The Group Inc. in Ft. Collins, CO these days. It's the best training in our biz.

appreciate you commenting on our seer piece. was fun putting that one together.

cheers

Jim- I am glad I got mine (e-PRO) in my first year of business! I have not got any referrals from it but I certainly do use it as  a marketing tool...for buyers and for sellers... It just proves to them that you are focused on the internet...where the buyers are.... That is how I use it

Thanks for being my first comment on "Blog for sale" yesterday... That turned out to be a funny one- by accident!

I've yet to meet a prospect that contacted me because of my e-pro designation, or any designation for that matter (CRS, GRI, EcoBroker).  I still recommend the course.  Its pretty good, and its highly likely you'll learn something of value.

I have the e-pro designation.  I found the class contained a lot of things that I already knew.  There were a couple of things picked up here and there.  As others have stated, I have not received any referrals and I think the main benefit is just the use of the "title" more or less.
