The Eastern Market isn't just for Capitol Hill foodies.  People who love fresh food come from all over the area to shop for fresh meat and poultry and even flowers.

The indoor market is open every day except for Monday, but it's the weekends when it's really fun.

In addition to the inside vendors, there are stalls set up all along 7th Street SE.  And it's not just food, but pottery, jewelry and all kinds of wares displayed by local artisans.  You can even find affordable housing:

Howdy and evening Patricia

Patricia my friend, those sure are some mighty fine looking Birdy homes. I sure hope y'all are doing okay in your area, after last night storm!

Never been to the Eastern Market, but those colorful bird houses are making me want to get in the car and get down there.

That looks like fun. Better yet, it looks like it is even air conditioned.

Pat, I could kick myself for not going to The Easter Market when we lived in Leesburg.  We were in DC almost every weekend! It is definitely on my list when we get to DC for a visit.

The Eastern Market looks like a great place to visit, especially on the weekend Patricia.  Nothing like fresh produce and vegetables along with some great cuts of meat.  Thanks for sharing with us.
