George, Washington Family Fun on Fourth. For those who don't know, there is a small town in the center of Washington state, named George. With such an outstanding name, they tend to do some outstanding things.
One of those is the family fun that takes place on the Fourth of July. The schedule usually starts early in the morning with a fun run (before it gets too hot) and then there are activities at the park most of the day, with the big draw being free cherry pie starting mid-day. Note that the cherry pie is 8 feet by 8 feet. Did I mention that though the population is around 500, that on the Fourth, it swells to about 4,000? The day is capped off by a fantastic fireworks show.

This year will be the 55th year of making a cherry pie for the Fourth!
