Alright, I'm getting a complex. While on vacation I wrote a blog about a client who called and asked that I estimate a few electrical needs he has. He told me he found me online after finding me in the local paper. He said he didn't have much confidence in people in the papers because they're all idiots.
When he found me on the Internet, his opinion went up. His wife asked if he found anyone and he told her he did. He gave her the name of our company, to which she replied, "That's the idiot from the paper." OK, if that hadn't been enough I received another hit this week.
My wife was cleaning the bathroom the other day, and I could hear her fussing
about something. She finally emerged and said, "Whoever thought that idea for that stupid ceiling was a good one is an idiot." I responded by saying, "Thank you. That idiot would be me." She thought it was the previous owner, but unfortunately for me, it wasn't. I had stippled the ceiling during a remodel years ago.
Should I start to worry? I'm beginning to see a trend here. It's even worse when it's someone who knows you. Happy Sunday!

LOL! At least you see the funny side of things inspite of the negative call outs! That's the only way we can survive with our chin up!
They are, Hannah. Just my wacky world. 8-)
There you do, Jennifer. My wife was pretty funny when she realized I did the stippling. Her response was, "At least you're a cute idiot." 8-)
Mike - I am sure you were laughing writing this. It is something that happens to us all and quite often. If you can write about it, you are sane.
Which is a good thing.
Get a Martini
That sounds like a good plan, Jon. 8-)
It can happen very easily. But, I bet yo uwill learn from this lesson
Yep, William. Next time I'll agree with her and not tell her I was the guilty party. 8-)
A carpenter once told me that "If you never break anything it means your not building anything." In that spirit, if you never make a questionable call (stiple in a bathroom) then you are never making any decisions :)
There you go, Mark.
Mike: Although I understand you've taken a few hits in a short period of time ... I don't think I'd be overly worried. I think the term "idiot" is used to define people with differing opinions to your own fairly often, not true idiotic behavior. But isn't it wonderful that our wives can humble us so thoroughly and so quickly with the use of just a few words?? I know mine has the same talent ...
Gene
Hello Mike,
Don't let idiotic comments get in your way...I guarantee that there is no one in the world that has not made a decision that someone would think was made by an idiot(!)
Hi Mike. I can understand why you feel the way you do...your not perfect and you will make mistakes. So pick your head up and move on:)
Nah, I'm not worried, Gene. It's all tongue and cheek.
That's true, Lisa. I hope you have a great week.
Moving on, Cheryl. 8=)
More calls like the one from the guy who found you on the internet will have you laughing all the way to the bank.
That one was a classic, Jill. I smile every time I think about it.
Hang in there Mike with each failure comes success. Who knows maybe you won't get slammed again this week. Well at least lets hope so. :~)
Thanks, James. It's going to be a great week.
Mike, it is about our failures but truly they do turn into successes since we all have a learning experience from them!
Absolutely, Ginny. This is my wacky life. 8-)
Thanks for the laugh this morning, Mike. Don't know if it was your intention to make us laugh but you did. And for what it's worth, from what I know of you on ActiveRain, I never thought of you as an idiot. :)
It was, Peggy. My wife followed my confession with, "Well, at least you're a cute idiot." I felt better. 8-)
