It's no surprise the government and many other Real Estate experts project a record number of short sales in 2012. I believe they will continue thru 2013. Hopefully the powers that be will realize this and extend the tax relief deadline past 12/31/12.It's bad enough people are losing their homes that they would have to pay tax on the debt relief.

Many lenders have started giving sellers money to do a short sale. B of A for example has a program where they are giving sellers $2,500 to $30,000. Not everyone will qualify and there are many factors including loan amount, investor, etc.
