Come join us in downtown Brevard for a hometown Fourth of July celebration like no other. The festivities begin early with the 5K/10K Firecracker Run courtesy of the Brevard Rotary Club. Throughout the day, downtown Brevard’s streets will be closed to traffic to allow for a huge crowd of people attending a wide variety of events. Among the largest events are the 40th Annual Fine Arts & Crafts Showcase and the Classic Automobile Show. The automobile show will feature vintage vehicles from the 1920s to the 1970s, and you might even find yourself at an impromptu Elvis concert! In addition to Elvis and other classic acts at the automobile show, there will be live music all day long at the Courthouse Gazebo.

Entertainment will include the Pyramid Brass, Deano and the Dreamers, Lynn Goldsmith & the Jeter Mountain Band, Stepchild, puppet cabaret from the Mountain Marionettes, and A Dead Masquerade. There are many other events to watch or take part in, including the All Star Pet Show, the Duck Race, the Bicycle Parade, the reading of the Declaration of Independence, the Memorial Flag Raising, a hot dog eating contest, and the Old Time Fair on the grounds of the Transylvania Heritage Museum. Brevard Little Theatre will be presenting three performances of “The Great Western Melodrama” at the American Legion Hall. As if all these things weren’t enough, there will also be a Fireworks Extravaganza to cap off the evening. If you truly want to celebrate the Fourth of July all day long, there is no better place to go than downtown Brevard.
