Attention Cheesman Park Residents!

Historic Homes of DenverAccording to the Denver Police Department, there have been a rash of car break ins in the 700 blocks and Lafayette and Humboldt Streets and in the 600 to 800 blocks of Ogden Street.
car theft

To date, Police have not gotten a good description of the suspect(s).  The thieves committing these crimes are breaking into vehicles after seeing something of value in plain sight in the car.  Residents should know that DPD has increases patrols in these areas, But, one of the easiest ways for you NOT to become a victim is lock your vehicle, and do not leave any valuables in your cars.  These things include backpacks, wallets, purses, computers, ipads, radar detectors, garage door openers, GPS devices, etc.  In short, any item that could be pawned or sold on the street.

If residents see any suspicious people or behavior in the area, they are being asked to call the Combined Communications Center at 720-913-2000.  If you see an actual crime in progress, call 911 immediately.

Kerry, no matter how great a neighborhood you live in this kind of thing goes on. Make sure the criminals who would look in your car see nothing of value.
