Until you have been somewhere where the right to freedom is taken away, is when you appreciate more what we as American’s have. That night sitting in a foxhole at the beginning of Desert Storm opened my eyes to something I never totally appreciated...it’s more than fireworks. The freedom we have in our COUNTRY should never be taken for granted. Have a safe Independence Day!

Cheryl Thank you for your service. My WWII USMC husband landed on Okinawa in 1945 with the 6th Marine Division. They returned to Guam and were preparing for the invasion of Japan when the Enola Gay.brought the war to an end - he loves fireworks, but never talks about the battle - it's a Greatest Generation thing.
