14 Comments on Emergency preparedness in Bedford VA
This is good information and we should have it handy during the hurricane season. Thank you.
Scott.
I agree.....be prepared.......be safe......Happy 4th!
Your information is drilled into us every year as we live in a hurricane prone area but we do tend to forget about all of the other natural disasters that happen all over this country.
Great advice, Scott, and a bunch of us got a chance to use it this past week. Much of our area still doesn't have electricity, cable or phone service.
Scott, very good advice! We were pretty lucky here in Northern Virginia. We lost telephone and television for a couple of days, but the power and Internet stayed on.
Excellent advice! Better to have this stuff on hand and not need it than need it and not have it.
We are lucky also, i only lost power for a few minutes at our house and Bedford office. Another KW franchise (Hilltop) bought and sent generators to our Lynchburg location who has remained without power. We still have many, many people without power.
Scott, Florida is more used to this than you are. Glad you have power!
Scott,
Valuable advice. As it would happen, amateur radio operators nationwide participated in a preparedness drill called "field day". Suggest tou also find a local Ham so when the communications go down, you'll know how to get emergency communications through.
Hope your area has recovered enough to have a Happy July 4th.
Good reminders. It seems like there is something to be concerned about in just about every part of the United States. Happy July 4th.
Good information Scott. Too many people take things for granted and are shocked and unprepared when an emergency happens. It seems like National Emergencies are becoming more frequent so we all need to be well prepared.
We are just north of you and escaped the power outage. Good luck.
Scott:
I am always harping on disaster preparedness. Since I live in earthquake country I think people show be prepared. The only time people here think about being prepared is after a mild quake.
