Fireworks and Activities - Fourth of July Things to Do in Tucson
Woke up today to heavily overcast skies here in Tucson and my first thought was....fireworks.
I've seen many a firework show interspersed with monsoon lightning my 12 years here in Tucson, but with the fire hazards in a desert, always happy to see a little rain with my sparkling Fourth of July displays.
My favorite year was my first summer here...I drove up Catalina Hwy to the extreme NE of town and progressed up the first foothills towards Mt. Lemmon. Just ten minutes up afforded a few of most of the firework displays in town! I wasn't the only one - cars lined the roads as folks camped out on their car tops to catch the displays.
Locally, in Tucson today, folks can catch events at the following locations:
Hilton El Conquistador - North Oracle Road - Reservations required at Last Territory Dinner and Music for guests and/or public $27/$32 Kids $15
Casino Del Sol 9 p.m. Free, open to public
Kino Stadium 7:05 Padres game against the Salt Lake Bees, Fireworks follows Game
A Mountain - 9:15 p.m. Park nearby at the Tucson Convention Center Parking Lot B, 22nd Street Lot at I-10, Mercado West End Lot, City Parking Garage at 498 W Congress (Mission Street will be closed)
Party at Mercado - Downtown Tucson - 100 S Avenida del Convento from 5-10
Marana - Arizona Pavillions 6 p.m. Festivities, 9:00 Show
Have a terrific, patriotic, commemorative Fourth of July, Arizona!
