11 Comments on Fireworks Ban in the State of Colorado This Year
Praying that you all receive rain and that these fires get put out soon! Good thing there is so much more to celebrate the 4th with...like FOOD! Enjoy your holiday!
Howdy and morning Belinda
Belinda my friend, Governor Hickenlooper sure did make the right decision of no open fires andfireworks in Colorado right now. Y'all sure don't need and more fires starting and end up putting folks, their homes and Colorado Countryside at risk. Here's to y'all and all your family members have a mighty enjoyable and safe 4th of July!
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Belinda - over the last week news of fires and smoke filled air always seem to be followed by ads for fireworks. I encountered some domestic fireworks about the neighborhood last evening, but they were fairly restrained. Enjoy your day. Hope our promised storms for tomorrow reach as far as you.
Hope everyone goes by what the Governor of both Co and NM have stated - NO FIREWORKS! The city of Abq in an effort to stop people from using their own fireworks is going to have a huge free all afternoon event and fireworks for tonight. In my opinion they should have just called the entire thing off. All it takes is one little spark and we're all toast.
Belinda- I think it's a smart thing for the Governor to do. Let's hope everyone listens and realizes that there will be many more July 4ths to celebrate but the loss of lives and homes is just not worth it. Suggest they turn on the Capitol Fourth or the Boston Pops if they want.
I am sure fireworks fans will be disappointed, but it really is the right decision.
Hi Belinda -- there are so many other ways to celebrate and enjoy the holiday without fireworks especially when so much of your state is under the threat of wildfires. Have a good and safe 4th!
Hi Belinda - We're going to miss them this year - we could see three big shows from our front yard, Fort Collins, Loveland, and Wellington, with a scattering of the usual small displays. But I'm perfectly happy foregoing the chances that something would get out of hand with the way conditions are right now.
The best thing to do considering all the fires going on. I sure hope they get it all under control and no more get started.
Happy 4th to You!
A very smart decision, Belinda. I would hate to see all that start up again. Glad it's finally calming down!
Some of our celebrations were canceled for a different reason. Thousands of families in Maryland have been without power since last Friday's storm and there was much damage.
Have a great day and an outstanding weekend.
