35% rain quickly turned into 100% as we came over the rise just before Panquitch Lake. A light sprinkle did nothing to deter us from setting up our spot on the beach. Sitting inside the truck during a downpour or two until we realized there was rain gear in the toolbox. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, it must be a duck...oh, wait, that's me in a bright neon yellow slicker with hood and matching pants! Ha!
Who needs fishing fashion when you are nice and dry? We caught 2 fish and 2 got away. I'd say that is about perfect for the 4th of July!
The weather was supposed to be a balmy 82 degrees for the day's high and when we left a 8:00 p.m., the water was calm, no wind and the clouds had dissipated. What a great fishing day trip! Until next time...
