The next six weeks.....well it started on June 26 and will end in early August. What on earth could I be talking about???? Spending the next six weeks with my Dad.
My dad will be 79 in August. In May, when I was visiting him, he watched me work from his kitchen table as I always do while I am there. You have to understand....there is nothing in Mart and we wait to go to the farm until late in the afternoon (too hot before then). He asked me if I work anywhere and I said yes. As long as I have internet connection and a place large enough to set up my laptop, scanner, and printer I am at work. This was his next question.....
I want to go to Montana for 3 weeks, can you take me? My dad, for as long as I remember, has never asked any of us for anything...other than good grades, clean your room, be home by 11:00pm...the usual parent stuff. I did not know what to say. There was a couple issues to deal with, 1) my wife needs to be on board with this 2) we will be moving to Indiana at the same time 3) our son will be in the middle of travel baseball at that time and 4)getting all the other things done I have to do.
My wife, after many conversations, agreed for me to go. She is taking care of our sons travel baseball. Got the move done in time, and I have organized everything so I can do this.
When do we leave for Montana, well not exactly sure but I have started my six weeks with dad and I am blessed beyond words. My wife and family unselffishly jumped in, filled to roles I would normally do, and here I am in Mart, Tx. It doesn't matter that Mart has nothing to do....I am fulfilling my life beyond my expectations.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
