Adjala-Tosorontio is a mostly rural township dotted with small towns in south-central Ontario, in the County of Simcoe. Adjala-Tosorontio is located north of Highway 9, east of Mono Township on west of the city of New Tecumseth. It was created in 1993 when the County of Simcoe Act merged the townships of Adjala and Tosorontio on January 1st, 1994.

A predominantly rural area, the township reflects its agricultural heritage. Rolling hills, beautiful treed countryside and meandering rivers are a few of the many natural attributes of the area. Adjala-Tosorontio contains numerous small villages such as Colgan, Keenansville, Rosemont and many others. Many communities were started in Adjala by Irish Catholics who named their villages after their home towns in Ireland, or after prominent pioneer families who first settled in the area. The municipality has increasingly become home to residents who commute to Toronto for work but want more quality out of their home life.

Fun Fact:"Tosorontio" is Huron for "Beautiful Mountain", and Adjala was the name of the wife of Chief Tecumseh, for the neighbouring township (now called New Tecumseth) was named.

what a beautiful area Chris, I bet the quality of life is fantastic there, and with more people being able to work at home with their computers, I'm sure more and more people will want to leave the city and settle there.
