Forest Lakes Chesapeake Virginia
Forest Lakes in Chesapeake, Virginia is one of my most favorite neighborhoods in Chesapeake. The curving roads that wind through this neighborhood are named primarily after trees such as Oak, Cherry and Birch. The two man-made lakes within the neighborhood provide a popular rooste for local water fowl and herons and egrets are frequently sighted on the banks of the lakes. If you walk through Forest Lakes on any morning, you will hear the sound of birds as they welcome the day.

The homes in Forest Lakes mostly have two stories, however, a few ranch homes can be found within the neighborhood. Brick and vinyl siding are the most common exteriors for homes within Forest Lakes. Most homes have 4 bedrooms, however, some larger homes have been built within the subdivision. Homes in Forest Lakes were primarily built in the late 1980's and early 1990's, however, there are a few new homes in the eastern side of the neighborhood near Waters Road. There are also many homes with inground pools.
Forest Lakes is centrally located within the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake and provides an easy commute to just about any area within Hampton Roads. Downtown Norfolk is a mere 20-30 minute drive away and there are many favorite Chesapeake restaurants that are just a few minutes from Forest Lakes.
Forest Lakes Schools
One key reason the homes within Forest Lakes have maintained their value over the years is the school system. Forest Lakes is zoned for Cedar Road Elementary School, Great Bridge Middle School, and Chesapeake's newest and most technologically advanced highschool, Grassfield.
