Fort Stewart is located west of Savannah in Hinesville, Georgia. Fort Stewart houses the 3rd infantry division along with non-divisional and tenant units. It combines with Hunter Army Airfield to be a world-class training, and military armored power projection combination. This allows military units in the region to deploy rapidly throughout the world. Fort Stewart is by far the bigger of the two with Hunter bringing it's aviation brigade. 

Although it's not located in the first planned city, Savannah, Fort Stewart is in an area rich with history. Hinseville dates back to the time of Spain’s colonial empire in America on the records. Fort Stewart, although in Liberty County, is in proximity to Savannah, Richmond Hill, and Pooler. All these areas are experiencing growth especially with news that more units are set to be stationed here.
