Wow....I did not know this. Beautiful beach!!!!
It is a great beach Li, it has just about everything someone could want for a weekend beach getaway.
Malcolm - You have no idea how awesome the looks to this desert rat! Beautiful area...
Malcolm, Fantastic park you have there, and no saltwater to sting the eyes!
Malcolm - Sounds and looks like a wonderful place to spend a few summer days, but please, let's not mention those 1980 styles--there is more than one photo of me floating around with big hair, padded shoulders and a baby on my hip.
Malcolm - What a gorgeous spot. I hope you're able to jump into that water, especially with the heat wave you're experiencing right now. The video is funny and sure takes me back. I like the part where he adds suntan oil to someone's back - guess that was back in the good 'ol days before spf 100!
Malcolm, Helen has organized our summer...
For our second break, we will be headed up to Montreal with my brother, his kids and family and spend a few days in Montreal. They will continue up the St Lawrence while we will depart for Ottawa. We might spend a day or two at our cottage. If our schedules allow, perhaps we can meet for lunch or dinner. I showed my mother-in-law your posts on Scotland and she was in tears...
Malcolm:
That is a gorgeous beach and a wonderful place to camp. The video is weird but fun.
I wish I could take a walk on the beach.
Have an outstanding weekend.
John, sometimes the desert seems like a pretty good option to me, especially in February.
Liz and Bill, no no saltwater whatsoever, just clean pure Lake Ontario water :-)
Haha Norma, I think there's a reason those styles have vanished.
Valerie, it's only a three hour drive from Ottawa, I'm sure you can slip away for a day or two.
Sally, yes, I actually went to take the pictures and I did roll up my pants and wade into the water. Yes, remember the good old days when getting a bit of sun was supposed to be good for you?
Chris, yes, that would be great, I'm sure you'll be driving down the 401 on your way back from Montreal, so lunch or dinner would be really good. I'll pick somewhere nice. I'm glad your mom-in-law liked the pictures.
Evelyn, yes the video was pretty weird, but then again, the 1980's was a strange decade.
Roy, I'm sure there is a good selection of beaches near you in Maryland, a shoeless walk on a sandy beach is always nice. Tnaks for stopping by.
Malcolm, great little Localism there. There are so many cool areas like this to explore.
I had no idea anything like this was up your way! Beautiful beaches!!!!! GREAT localism post!
Ahhh, a hidden gem Malcolm! Never knew Sandbanks existed!! Will have to get out there!
It sure is a great place.
Beautiful pictures.
Malcolm, Looks so, so inviting. Thanks for inviting all of us to come over. Be careful all of us might just show up on your door step one of these days.
Malcolm - I practically lived at the Sand Banks as a late teenager and into my early 20s when it was quite the party place. (it is now a little more family oriented than it was!!) I think it is one of Canada's most beautiful spots. I taught my nephews how to bodysurf there too. I think it is time to take a little drive down the highway to revisit but perhaps in the fall when the 1000's of visitors have departed! Congrats on the feature!
