Wow – it’s the second Friday of the month and you know what that means, right?  You don’t?  It means that historic, downtown Wake Forest NC is bringing on the Art After Hours!  Food, Art, Shopping, Dining and so much can be found during Art After Hours each month and here is the line up for this month!  Grab your friends, your neighbors, your family – you won’t want to miss Art After Hours!

Wake Forest Farmers’ Market

Friends of the Library Annual State of the Corporation and Election of New Board Members
Wednesday, July 11; 7 pm
Northern Regional Center, 350 E. Holding Ave.
The Friends of the Library will present the annual "State of the Corporation" and hold election of new board members for the 2012/2014 term. Nominees for director to date are Charlotte Magee, retired computer program specialist and author; Kenille Baumgardner, retired special educations teacher, active community volunteer and former Wake Forest Commissioner. Following the business meeting, Mike Wasilick, Director of Wake County Public Libraries, will discuss the current and future direction of the Wake County Library System. Refreshments will be served. Art After Hours

On the second Friday night of each month the streets of downtown Wake Forest come alive with food, merchants and music! Everyone is invited to come and experience the dining, art and retail merchants of downtown Wake Forest. Downtown businesses stay open until 9 p.m. You never know what treasure you may find!

Art After Hours at Sunflower Studio & Gallery Featuring Artist Billy Farmer

Billy Farmer, a North Carolina native, began to work as an artist after retiring from a successful career as a band director and music teacher. Billy works principally in watercolor but also enjoys acrylic, pastels and charcoals. Whatever his medium, his pieces are characterized by thoughtful, sensitive handling and mastery of color and design. The focus of his paintings is often landscapes. Billy graduated from Barton College and subsequently studied at North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Berkley College of Music. Billy's show will be focused on local landmarks, landscapes and still life work. You will not want to miss his 2012 show at the Sunflower!

Art After Hours Featuring Artist Omar Cummings

We have an exciting artist reception planned with our traditional exhibit and refreshments in The Event Gallery from 5:30 – 9 pm.
