Venerable Toluca Lake Eatery Chez Nous Closed
UPDATE: Chez Nouz has reopened under new ownership! Word is out that Baret Lepejian, owner of Lucy's 51 in Toluca Lake and Tinhorn Flats in Burbank currently has the bakery open and has plans for full restaurant service to be phased-in after a few weeks. Also in the works is a renovation of select areas of the establishment. We will keep you posted!
In June, while walking past Chez Nous, the charming bakery and restaurant that has been a fixture in Toluca Lake near the
corner of Riverside Dr. and Cahuenga Blvd. for seemingly forever (I believe over 30 years), signs newly posted on the windows indicated that it was to be "closed for renovations". Now, rumor and inuendo have it that Chez Nous will NOT be undergoing renovations and will never open its doors again. Internet searches and talk on the street apparently confirm this. While I am hoping for the best, it appears that another established Toluca Lake business has not survived the challenges of the recent economy. RIP, Chez Nous!
