Lakeland Historic District HomeThis historic area of Lakeland in Polk County Florida is the perfect showcase for these magnificent historic homes and buildings that give this Lakeland town character and a reputation of true historic integrity.  Lakeland Historic District homes for sale are bungalows that were built in the arts and crafts period between 1920 and 1930.  You will also see examples of Victorian, Queen Anne, Spanish Revival homes, and the influence of Mediterranean homes in this area. Lakeland Historic District is a U.S historic community that was officially designated as such on November 30, 1985. This unique historic location has 557 architecturally significant buildings homes and bungalows that date from back to the 1920’s and continued to be built until 1948.

Lakeland Florida’s historic Lake Morton District area extends from Florida Southern College encompassed by tree-lined brick streets showcasing recently renovated many astonishing fine historic Victorian homes, brick homes, older bungalows, cottages and Mediterranean style homes that were constructed in the early 1920′s reaching downtown Lakeland.

The immaculate spherical 40-acre Lake Morton just a short distance away from downtown, a selection of its 1 mile shoreline was recently restored with rock material to prevent erosion and planting aquatic vegetation along the shoreline. Lake Morton is the home of the world-famous swans along with birds, ducks, geese, white pelicans, and other species.  Remember, while driving around Lake Morton, keep in mind that swans, geese and ducks do have the right of way.
