As a real estate broker, what do I expect from a home inspector?
A good home inspector is an integral part of the real estate team. I love home inspectors who are thorough and patient with the buyers, willing to answer questions raised by the buyers. It is especially important to me that they provide a detailed report with pictures so that the buyers have all the information they may need.
I have heard home inspectors called many names, and not all of them are good.
Aspersions like “deal-killer” or “nitpicker” and even worst are often cast, and usually without justification.
What do I expect from a home inspector that is working for my client?
I want them to leave no stone unturned and no component unchecked.
I want my clients to know EVERYTHING about the condition of the house that they need to make an informed decision.
I have never had a home inspector kill a deal. I have had many a HOUSE not pass muster and I am so grateful that the inspector provided my client with a clear and accurate picture of the property that they had under contract.
My goal is NOT to make a sale. My goal is to ensure that my client is completely satisfied with their purchase.
And that they go to closing with eyes wide open!
